News photography workshop will consist of three parts:
PART I: theory (3 hours)
* what is considered to be a news photography, types of news photography
* what are the usual settings for news photography, what equipment is the best for news photography
*what is the usual procedure in making and delivering of news photos
*how to process news photos&technical requirements for print and web
*tips for news photography in the field
*Etc.
The theory part will explain the entire process of making and delivering photos to the different types of media outlets (daily newspapers, magazines, periodicals, web-portals, news agencies, news desks, etc.).
This part is introductory and preparatory part for the practice.
PART II: practice preparation (3 hours)
This practical part will be a preparation for PART III (real practice with real media outlet/news agency). It will consist of a specific assignment in the field with tight deadlines and technical requirements. It is possible that a part of the assignment will be to cover a press--conference in the Media Center Belgrade. The photos made will have to be delivered on time and as specified to the instructors email for review and approval. If this part is passed well, the photographer will qualify to be listed for practical PART III with the real media.
PART III: practice with assignment for the real media outlet (one day)
This part will be the final part of the news photography course. Photo Pros will make an arrangement with the real media outlet (news agency/news desk, daily newspaper/magazine), where photographers will get the daily schedule of events to be covered. The schedule will include the specific times and venues of the events to cover, as well as the deadlines for each event when the photos should be sent to the news desk.
The date of this part will naturally be determined later, as we cannot predict in advance what events will be held on any particular day. Photographers will be informed and notified at least 1-2 days in advance.
